Food
                Offering a lip smacking variety of special south Indian dishes Tamil Nadu is quite popular for sambar, dosai, idli, vada, rasam and most of all the typical country-made filter coffee.     

    

Dresses

While there are hordes of Dress fabrics and ready-made apparels available in the region, the Kancheepuram silk has a special demand among the people for its bright color combination and delicately done heavy borders. Cotton Dresses are another finest example of weaving skills of the region.

Tamil Nadu Women

With a high literacy rate the Women of Tamil Nadu are quite progressive in nature and have access to all major tools of advancement. The Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women in the region works towards the betterment of the less privileged section of the females.

                                               

Pongal

The Pongal is also known as the Harvest Festival. It is observed to offer homage to the Nature, Sun and Cattle for supporting people with a thriving harvest and affluence. The conventional cuisine of Pongal or boiled rice with milk and jaggery is made at every house.

Karthigai Deepam

It is also named as the "Festival of Lights" and it is one of the most colorful carnivals in the state. Karthigai Deepam is a very old event in Southern India which takes place on a full moon day.
